For the new DGARTWORK jersey capsule collection, Dolce&Gabbana is playing around with T-shirts and sweatshirts so they can be worn for any occasion and at any time. Punk Rock provides the inspiration, a movement that historically emerged in the United States in the mid-70s, yet it was in Great Britain that it would develop, especially from the perspective of the aesthetic. The features and details that distinguish this movement have been reworked and imbued with a new, contemporary witty feel. Their classic allure has been updated and reinterpreted by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in keeping with new moods and styles. Our Sicilian roots and heritage, our traditions with our iconic symbols, such as the heart, mix with unusual volumes and cuts, zippers and logos, external denim appliqués, and a mix of materials on sweatshirts and T-shirts. The models change look, flaunting their total liberty in how they can be interpreted in terms of style. It is a tribute to a new way of dressing that was introduced in those years, which was provocative at the time, and is ironic today.
